Actually we’re indifferent as to how much of a damn you give; simply because pods are personal. Well, we care a little, but the exercise in writing has value in and of itself. It allows the author to self-reflect at which point we hope you will too. The pods are the determined, sometimes self-indulgent, but always inspired ramblings of an individual author. You might liken them to 2 a.m. news coverage on your favorite 24 hour cable news network - still vaguely relevant and important, but sometimes on the fringe of what you might otherwise consider headline news. In other words, consider them refreshing rather than redundant.
That said, like the novice newscaster who gets stuck with the overnight slot, working hard to make his way up the newsroom chain, the pod is often where we write our most ambitious pieces, motivated by our inner monologue, often too at 2 a.m. (and sometimes it shows). We make no apologies on our pods, but promise to live up to the highest of our own standards. We still welcome comments and we encourage you to get engaged and consider start writing one of your own. Don’t worry, somebody’s listening, but they may not give a damn…and that’s ok, because it’s your own.
